A mining company undergoing rapid expansion and inorganic growth was adding operations across Australia and the United States. During this period of significant organizational change, leadership wanted to better understand gaps in the employee experience and identify the factors having the greatest influence on employee engagement.
ForPsyte implemented a company-wide employee experience and engagement survey supported by predictive analysis to identify the key drivers of employee engagement.
The analysis focused on several areas of the employee experience, including perceptions of company leadership, employee empowerment, and relationships with direct supervisors.
The analysis showed that leadership, employee empowerment, and supervisor relationships were among the most important factors connected to employee engagement. Together, improvements in these areas accounted for the majority of the engagement improvement identified in the analysis.
The relationship was also substantial. A 10-point improvement in these key employee experience measures was associated with about a 7-point increase in employee engagement.
These findings gave leadership a clearer picture of where to focus organizational development efforts, with particular emphasis on strengthening manager-employee relationships during continued growth and organizational change.
